Guy Flooring whats to ensure you will not only have a quality product, but also a quality installation leaving you with a floor that will last and last for years to come. The Process:
- Prep Work: If necessary, prior to the installation of your new hardwood flooring, we will remove old carpet, tile, or wood flooring. Some slabs will require us to prepare the slab by sanding, filling and leveling to provide the optimum surface for wood floor installation
- Nail Down/Staple Installation: In this process we nail down/staple solid or engineered wood to the sub floor (plywood or plank wood). The sub floor is cover with black felt paper, then nail/staple the solid Hardwood flooring down on top.
- Glue Down Installation: In this method we glue down engineered wood directly to the sub floor. The sub floor is usually concrete. We use an acrylic base glue which is more mild than some of the other options. Glue down installation can be walked on the next day (great option for commercial properties and homes soon to enter in the market) and moved in.
- Floating Installation: In this process the floor floats over a foam cushioned padding. The flooring has a locking system. We lock the pieces together. This can be used with either laminate or engineered hardwood floor. Either way the flooring is pre-finished. Floating installation can also be placed over subflooring of questionable quality unlike the other two modes. Also, floating floors are a great option if you have multiple layers of flooring and do not want to remove them all. Generally, laminate flooring gives a hollow feeling underfoot with this type of installation.
